Traces is an inquiry into what is left behind—and what continues. Within bodies, cultures, and landscapes lie records whose origins may be gone, yet whose imprints persist like ghosts. Erosion leaves both loss and changed habitat; some voices outlive their speakers, reaching generations not yet born; grief may persist in a changed gait. The present moment evaporates, but what occurred lingers.
Gently,
POETRY · 2024
gently, i hold this injured heart.
raw and tattered.
still beating,
and beating.
years of tears pump
through arteries and veins,
recycled as if
scarce.
maybe it’s in knowing
the release of crying
will bring healing.
a crashed wave, pulling
the shore, dragging back
into the ocean.
The poem lingers in what the body cannot yet release; an old wound carried forward as pressure, circulation, and yearning.

i found that sampling one frame per second felt very sculptural. the original plan was to keep continuous animations.
